The Different World Series Of Poker Events

The World Series of Poker is the biggest poker event of the year.  It comes as no surprise given the large number of World Series of Poker Events for both the amateur and professional poker player alike.

With over 57 WSOP Events being held in 2010, there is no shortage of game choice and buy-in for every poker player at every level.  With huge prize pools, the WSOP 2010 is guaranteed to retain its place as the world’s premier poker event.

Special World Series of Poker Events

Besides the 57 tournament events, this year’s WSOP is offering up additional events for players to take part in.

These extra events include the WSOP Academy Poker School and Poker Instruction events that are being offered. 

The special courses include:

  • WSOP Academy – Tournament Academy (Rio Casino, May 28-29)
  • WSOP Academy – Applied Hand Analysis (Rio Casino, May 30)
  • WSOP Academy – Cash Game Academy (Caesar’s Palace, June 19-20)

WSOP Tournament of Champions

The World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions (TOC) is a million dollar freeroll for 27 specially invited past champions.  To gain entry into this event, past bracelet winners must be voted as a top 20 player by fans.  Automatic entry is given to the past WSOP Main Event Champion, WSOPE Champion, and the past TOC winners. 

The rigorous invitation process for the TOC ensures that the very best and most popular poker players will battle it out head-to-head.  With only 3 starting tables, and 27 players, there are no fish in these waters.  This is a champion vs. champion event that is huge favourite for poker fans everywhere.

World Series of Poker Championship Events

The No Limit Hold Em Championship Event is the most prestigious poker tournament in the world.  With the largest number of entrants and the biggest prize pool, this is one of the World Series of Poker Events that promises to deliver excitement like no other.

There are many other Championship Events held during the WSOP for other variations of poker.  Winning one of the Championship Events for any variation of poker is the most cherished tournament victory that a poker player can claim.  These Championship Events include:

The Poker Player’s Championship – $50,000 Buy-in – May 28th

The Poker Player’s Championship is the high stakes championship of the WSOP and promises to be filled with some of the biggest names in poker.

This Championship Event is a 5 day long event where the best players battle it out over every popular variation of poker.  This includes: Limit Hold Em, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, No Limit Hold Em, Pot Limit Omaha, and 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.

  • Seven Card Stud Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 3rd
  • Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 6th
  • 2-7 Draw Lowball (No Limit) Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 9th
  • Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 12th
  • Limit Hold Em Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 15th
  • Heads Up No Limit Hold Em Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 18th
  • Pot Limit Hold Em Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 21st
  • H.O.R.S.E. Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – June 23th
  • Pot Limit Omaha Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – July 1st
  • No Limit Hold Em Championship – $10,000 Buy-in – July 5th
